Natalie Viecili is a mixed media artist based in Toronto. She received her BFA from York University in 2010 and completed a one year studio residency at the Toronto School of Art through 2011. Her work has been exhibited at venues throughout Toronto including the Gladstone Hotel, Fort York, and Propeller Centre for the Visual Arts. She has also included work in Nuit Blanche (2010/2011) and has exhibited in Montreal and Seattle, Washington in 2012.
After a 5 year pause from art making to focus on graphic design and marketing, Natalie has returned to the creative process with new vigour and inspiration. Her most recent body of work explores depth and dimensionality through layers of resin, cut vinyl and paint. These mixed media pieces transform digital illustrations into intimate works, where the viewer can explore details layer by layer. The use of holographic elements creates new opportunities to rediscover the work from different angles and light.
